I use a “plug in” on my blog that I believe really encourages people to leave comments.
This simple free wordpress “plug in” called CommentLuv, visits the site of the comment author whilst they type their comment and gets a selection of their last blog posts, tweets or digg submissions, they then get to choose one to include at the bottom of their comment when they click submit.
