Upgrading WordPress… make sure you do this first:-
Let say there’s a new shiny version of WordPress available, it sooo tempting to upgrade it, wait……
You definitely want to be backing up your blog, before you do upgrade, I know you want to just go ahead, but it’s important you back up everything on your blog first.
Here’s a video from Educhalk.org about how to backup your whole blog and upgrade WordPress:
If the auto upgrade feature doesn’t work for whatever reason you can always upgrade manually.
Here are the steps to upgrade your WordPress Blog manually:
1. Perform a complete backup of both your database and directory structure (in case something goes wrong)
2. Login to your WordPress administration panel and deactivate all active plugins
3. Download and extract the latest STABLE WordPress version to a folder on your computer
4. Upload the extracted files to your WordPress serve directory with the exception of the following:
wp-content folder and it’s content
wp-includes/languages if you are using a custom language file
5. To perform the upgrade, navigate to http://yoursitename/wp-admin/upgrade.php and follow the on screen steps
6. Login to the administration panel and reactivate your plugins one by one to ensure that they still work with the new version of WordPress

I’m guilty of not doing back-ups…been lucky so far.
First time I’ve dropped by and I must say you have a nice blog with informative posts.
Good choice and your Captcha app…so many are unreadable and, essentially, end up denying access. At least to people like me who have a low tolerance for reentering stuff.

I am willing to bet that as time goes on, the way of on-page and off-page SEO will differ as we know it. I think we will see a transformation towards client factors in determining SERP results. That combined with advanced personalized SERP results and we’ll be seeing a huge molding of the searchers experience with Google and the other SEs. Every search result will not be created alike, take a look at things like user interaction, bounce rate, bounce time, etc… Focus on a better user experience all around, and I think you’ll see better results in 2010.
