Lets have a look at the scores on the doors

GOOD GAME, GOOD GAME

As Brucie would say “Lets see the scores on the doors, Miss Ford”?

This week, I’ve been trying many techniques to increase the traffic to my blog, as you can see in the graph below taken from Google Analytics (see previous post), the trend of the graph is promising, if the actual figures are not so impressive. But from small acorns grow a mighty oak, and we’ve all got start somewhere.

Of all the methods I’ve employed so far to increase traffic, the most effective seems to be posting comments on other Alex Jeffreys students blog posts. Also useful is posting links to other students blog posts, this is absolutely a win/win situation.

On my blog travels, I’ve been pleased to see the majority of comments posted by others to be useful, interesting and add something to the value of the blog in question. When I started, I wrongly believed that sharing information on my journey I’d learnt was somehow a bad idea, I was unconciously reluctant to share, and get involved in the community. How wrong could I have been. Doh

It’s been a blast so far to be mentored by Alex Jeffreys and do the course, being part of the community of students has been incredibly inspiring.

Oh, and did I mention I’m thirtynine, not fourty… well at least not for a few days…. yikes!

What have been your results on getting more traffic, What works, what doesn’t for you?

Love to hear from you

    Hi Rob,

It’s great to see your traffic numbers increasing through using the methods.

Commenting on plenty of blogs will see your numbers rise and also build lots of backlinks, which will see your search engine rankings improve as well, meaning even more visitors!

I’m glad you are enjoying the “community” apect of the coaching as well. I haven’t had this much fun online in years!

    Thanks for the encouragement Dave

Perhaps you could do a post on how you personally go about writing such lengthly, but value packed posts.

How long does it take you to do a post, how many times do you edit, what is the usual process for writing a post. Were your posts always this good?

Anyways cheers mate, you’re way ahead of me. You’re proving a great inspiration to me.

    Keep in touch
