I’ve just been pulled up by the Gammar Granny

I am being mentored by internet marketer Alex Jeffreys, one of my fellow students Roberta recently pointed out a spelling mistake on the title of one of my previous posts “It’s definately time to get your back up”. As you can see I had spelt “definitely” wrong. I agree that spelling mistakes on your post title are not professional at all, this got me thinking about the spelling and grammar on posts, and how important it is.

It looks like I could do with some help with this, Roberta AKA Grammar Granny says “Let me help you write it right!”, so if you like me could do with some help with your grammar and spelling I suggest you visit her site at www.grammargranny.com

The sight has some great advice on basic grammar, spelling, punctuation, and Resume Writing. Granny’s Groaners has a list of Granny’s most hated grammar errors.

If you need help with your resume, subscribe to her mailing list for a free mini course on Resume Writing.

To help, I’ve also installed an advanced spell checker plugin called After The Deadline. In addition to the standard spell check and suggestions features, it also includes style and grammar checking. The plugin also lets you define custom dictionary of sorts – you can set it to always ignore certain words.

Unfortunately it doesn’t spell check your post title, and doesn’t offer spell checking help for people posting comments against your posts. It works great when your writing your own posts though.

The plugin is free, but bear in mind that if you’re making more than $500 a month from your blog, you need to purchase a licence from the authors.

Installation is easy, but you need to register at  here for an account, and to enter your unique API code into the plugins-> After the deadline settings screen.

Hopefully with Grammar Granny’s help and the “After The Deadline” plugin you should see your professionalism of your posts improve.
